The Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam (Pernis) is home to oil processing and chemical installations. Naturally, safety is the number one priority. In addition, efficiency and reliability are key factors – especially given today’s global market conditions.

For over 75 years, Shell has relied on KH Engineering for safety, efficiency and reliability on site. KH Engineering is primarily engaged for process improvements and medium-sized projects aimed at boosting efficiency. In addition, KH Engineering provides various services to Shell’s technical departments, including civil inspections, process engineering and support for high-voltage projects.

KH Engineering played a key role in the renewal of the ‘D-Gantry’ loading station for trucks and railcars. A valuable ‘rethinking session’ was held, during which ideas were exchanged on the optimal approach to upgrading the station. Does everything really need to be replaced, or could parts be renovated? Can we deliver a smarter and simpler solution while still meeting safety standards?

KH Engineering also contributes actively to project execution. Does every detail need to be worked out in advance, or can a construction partner be involved at an earlier stage? The focus is always on the overall efficiency of the project.
