Inspiring masterclass on energy transition in the process industry

On 25 September 2024, KH Engineering, in collaboration with Deltalinqs, organised the inspiring masterclass ‘Master Plan for Energy Transition in the Process Industry’. This exclusive session brought together industry professionals in De Loft at RDM Next to gain insight into the challenges and solutions for making brownfields (existing industrial sites) more sustainable.

Approach and case studies
During the masterclass, we presented our approach to greening brownfields, based on the white paper ‘Master Plan for Energy Transition in the Process Industry’, developed by our New Energy & Infrastructure (NE&I) group. This approach was illustrated through case studies shared by Albert Keukens, Sustainability Manager at Shin-Etsu, and Wilfred Buijs, Chief Operating Officer at Gouda Refractories. Their insights demonstrated how companies can take tangible steps towards the sustainable transformation of brownfields.

Interactive panel discussion
Alongside in-depth knowledge, the masterclass offered interactive moments, such as the panel discussion led by Serdar Erdag, Account Manager NE&I at KH Engineering. This session allowed participants to engage directly with the expert panel, posing concrete questions on the sustainable transformation of brownfields. Attendees were equipped with practical tools to apply within their organisations. The masterclass concluded with an opportunity for networking and experience-sharing.

CO₂ compensation
We compensated the event’s CO₂ emissions by donating to Trees for All, a foundation dedicated to planting forests in the Netherlands and abroad. This underscores our commitment to sustainability through both knowledge-sharing and direct action.
